So much to tell...

Don't know where to start, cause so much has happened in one week.

Let's see if I can summarize most of it. First off, we made it out of SA later than we had hoped. The first and only UHAUL truck that we rented (the 26 footer) filled up fast and we still had a garage full. Jamie took off to rent another smaller truck and when that was full, we STILL had stuff sitting in our garage that we couldn't bare to leave. Off they went for another little trailer. They barley were able to squeeze the remaining items in the trailer and struggled to get the door shut for about 10 minutes! Now does that tell you we have TOO MUCH STUFF or what? Luckily my mom and dad had come down to help us move, so now my dad was on driving duty...alone!! Thank goodness I had my mom to help me drive the Jeep with the girls. WHew! So as the day went on and our renters were eager to move in...we finally made it out of town by 5 pm. Dallas was our first stop. We made it and were happy to sleep in a comfy bed for the night.

We left Dallas the next morning still in our warm weather clothes (San Antonio was 85 degrees the day we left), but by the time we hit Missouri that evening...it was chilly!!

* Lots of gas/potty stops.

*************SURPRISE************************

Take a look at what we discovered along the way...

We had heard that North and South Dakota had an early Blizzard and some parts had received 3 feet of snow. By the time we hit Fargo on our 3rd night, we had to run over to Scheels Sporting Goods and buy us all down filled Columbia jackets! It was soooooo cold. The temp was somewhere around 9 degrees. YIKES!

WE finally made it to Minot Sunday afternoon and the girls immediately hit the snow drifts in the yard. We couldn't get them to come in, they were having so much fun. We even had to run to the store and buy them some snow pants and boots!!
.
By Tuesday we were ready to get our trucks unloaded and put into storage. Jamie and I set off to the storage facility and within 2 minutes, we were back in the house calling for help. We both got stuck in the icy driveway. I couldn't get up the hill and when I tried to back down the hill, my trailer jack knifed! Jamie had the same problem, except his back wheel went into the neighbors yard and got stuck! Oh how fun! 3 hours later, we were rescued! Off to unload our belongings for the rest of the day! I wasn't much help, as I didn't want to risk going into labor by lifting heavy boxes!! I mostly sat in the truck and kept warm.

.
Lauren started school mid week. I was very excited for her, as she was going to start up at the school that I went to as a little girl. It was all going well and all of her new friends were anxiously awaiting her at the door. She didn't really respond to much of anything and kept squeezing my hand as to say...DO NOT LET GO OF ME! I kept up my happy face and tried to make her comfortable, but by the time we were saying goodbye, she was crying and clinging to me for dear life. I felt horrible. I wanted to stay and make her feel better, but luckily her new teacher stepped in and gave her a big hug. I knew she'd be fine after we left, but it's so hard to see your child upset like that! Of course her teacher called an hour later to tell us that she was smiling and doing much better!! YAY! Now she is going on her 3rd day of school and she LOVES IT!
.
The last few days have been in the 30's and the snow is melting and making a big mess. The girls are still happy to be here and keep saying how much they love North Dakota. I'm still trying to get us unpacked and organized. Today I will attempt to get my scrapbook stuff out and available. Hey...you just might see something crafty one of these days :-) I don't know if I'll remember how to do it, but I'm itching that's for sure!!
.
Hope you're all well! Cool Greetings from ND!

Sweet Gina!
I'm so sad you've left Texas! Please know you will be missed for sure, and I'm so thankful for the blessing of you. What a beautiful, bright person you are! :)
I hope you guys got your pan that you brought the lasagna over in...and I apologize for all the confusion about it. The girls and I had a severe stomach bug for almost two weeks, and we didn't physically leave our house for eight days.
I'm so glad to read your blog - been praying for you guys and will continue! Love you always, Lauren

WOW! Look at that snow! I would love for my kids to see some snow at least once in their lifetimes! We got a "cold front" in on Friday night and it was somewhat chilly throughout Saturday and we had a freeze warning for Saturday night, but today it's not that cold. Don't know what the temp is, but we have one of the doors open and it feels slightly cool, but nice. I'm also itching for more cold weather to wear some sweaters and stuff! Glad that Lauren likes her school now and that you all got there safe! Take it easy and keep us updated :)
